BELA-BELA, 17 April 2014 – Since Antonio Rosado followed his girlfriend to South Africa late last year, the Portuguese pro has done so well, he might want to consider a permanent move.

The Villamoure professional once again produced a patented final round charge to win the IGT Series Win a Car Final at Elements Private Golf Reserve and claim his fourth IGT Tour title in eight starts.

Just as he did when he won the IGT Series Centurion two weeks ago, and again at the IGT Series Modderfontein last week, Rosado began the final round well off the pace, but vaulted to pole with a five-under-par 67.

He edged out Johan de Beer (68) and Shaun Norris (72) by one shot on a winning score of three under 213.

Francois Coetzee finished two shots back after a final round 71, while Lean Boezaart (96), Juan Langeveld (71), Gideon Pienaar (72) and Duane Keun (73) tied for fifth on even-par.

Rosado began reeling in two-time Sunshine Tour champion Norris with three birdies against a lone drop over the first nine holes. He traded a birdie at 10 for a bogey at 11, and back-to-back birdies at the 14th and 15th holes put him in the running with Norris and De Beer.

“The birdie at the 18th was the highlight of my round,” Rosado said. “My game was great throughout the round, but I hit my two best shots at the 18th.

“I had 230 meters to the pin after a great drive, and I hit a great three-wood into the green. The bounce was bad, though, and the ball spun into the rough, about 20-meters from the pin. I got it back to two meters, and holed the putt to win.

“The only word that I have to describe the last two months since I won the IGT Series Krugersdorp is unbelievable. I won four times, I got a sponsorship from the Red Skins for the whole season and I’m loving South Africa.

“It’s just unbelievable. I have to thank my girlfriend, Rita Capelinha, because she told me to start competing on the IGT Tour.”

Rosado not only claimed his fourth title, but he also bagged the Seat Ibiza on offer in the first Win a Car Final.

“John McClean will be very happy that he doesn’t have to drive me around anymore,” Rosado said.

“My game just better hold up for the Race to USA Series, because my girlfriend wants me to win the Mini Cooper at the next Win a Car Final.”

The nine-event Race to USA Series tees off on 5 May at Irene Country Club.
